Blog Update – 1st January 2025

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone had the opportunity to end 2024 on a good note. Now we are at our first step into 2025, and a new year begins for us to try to break our previous records.

I would like to provide an update to my blog. Towards the end of 2024, I had a good break and was able to direct myself in a new direction, with a blog rebranding and new articles and ideas I would like to start. Fortunately for myself, I had a new opportunity in my career. Given that it is now more demanding, unfortunately for my blog, I will have less time in the short-term to pursue these ideas and will be looking to streamline and remove some of the coverage.

For some of my articles, I am well aware I have been rating them as “Unfavorable” for many quarters in a row. I will be looking to cease coverage for these companies. Apart from my lack of time, another reason is that sometimes, it is already known that certain industry or companies have already forecasted that they may need a long time to turnaround or improve their business. There is no need for a me to continuously remind readers that it is “Unfavorable” for a few quarters in a row.

There are also companies that have changed their strategies or business models over the last few quarters, different from when I first started investing with them. Given these changes, I may no longer agree with them which also resulted in similar “Unfavorable” ratings for many quarters in a row. There is no need for me to continue looking like I am pulling down the company for no reason.

I have been asked before if I would consider shifting my metrics since it is becoming the new “normal” and I should benchmark it against the rest in a similar industry. While that will be a good indicator of performance against its peers, it does not, however, paint a healthy financial profile for investors to safely invest in. The last thing anyone wants is to take on unnecessary risk and potentially losing capital. My preference has always been to direct readers towards companies that are safer and build a strong base. There are plenty of opportunities out there to take on for higher risk and rewards.

Regardless of your trading strategies, I wish everyone a happy investing journey ahead! May we all look to prosper in the new year.
